AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DRINKING, CARRYING AND/OR POSSESSING ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON PUBLIC PROPERTIES OR RIGHT-OF-WAYS IN THE VILLAGE OF FRANKLIN.

Be it Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Franklin, Illinois:

Definitions.

The word "alcoholic liquors" and all other words and phrases used herein which are not otherwise defined, shall mean as they are defined in Section 95, Chapter 43, Illinois Revised Statutes.

Section 1. Drinking on Public Properties or Public Right-of-Ways
No person shall consume any alcoholic liquor on any public properties or right-of-way (including but not limited to public highways, streets, alleys, and/or sidewalks, or parks) within the corporate limits of the Village of Franklin, Illinois.

Section 2. Carrying and/or Possessing on Public Properties or Right-of-Ways
No person shall carry or possess, transport or have any alcoholic liquor on any public properties or right-of-way (including but not limited to public highways, streets, alleys, and/or sidewalks or parks) except in the original package and with the seal unbroken, within the corporate limits of the Village of Franklin, Illinois.

Section 3. Penalty
Whoever violates any of the provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction be punished by a fine of not less than $25.00 nor more than $500.00.
